Peter Andre has joyfully shared that his newborn daughter Arabella has been given a second name. The pop star, aged 51, and his wife Emily celebrated the arrival of their baby girl last month, but found themselves in a quandary over choosing the perfect name.

Little Arabella Rose Andre was born on Tuesday 2 April, weighing in at a healthy 7lb 3oz. In the wake of her birth, Peter even reached out to his social media followers for help with naming suggestions.

A full month after welcoming Arabella into the world, the delighted couple announced: "It's taken a while but after lots of deliberation we've finally decided. Arabella Rose Andrea. Thank you to the lovely Sarah Deakin @curation_studio for the beautiful photos! " Since then, Peter has been eagerly updating fans about his new life as a father of five.

Despite his family being based in Australia, Peter is keen to ensure they play a part in Arabella's upbringing. The singer, who hails from a Greek Cypriot background, has spoken about the challenges of visiting his mother Thea in Australia, who is battling Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, while he yearns to introduce her and the rest of the family to baby Arabella.

In his column for New! magazine, Peter expressed: "They met the baby by video call when she was just moments old. I don't feel right to leave Emily and the baby just yet to go over and visit, but this way it feels like they're in the room and allows my parents to see those important first moments. And they love the name Arabella, which in Greek is pronounced Arvela."

Peter Andre's eldest kids, Princess, 16, and Junior, 18, have jetted off to Australia to support their grandmother. In a heartfelt post last week, Peter revealed the special story behind his newborn daughter's name.

He shared: "A couple of weeks ago I said to Emily that it was down to her to pick a baby name after all, she'd brought our baby into the world. Emily wanted us to decide together, but when she came up with the name Arabella Rose, I immediately thought, 'That's so beautiful.'".

He continued, "I guess it'll be Bella or Belle for short. Her name suits her perfectly and 'Rose' is what we originally called Millie for the first few weeks. Our family feels complete," as he expressed in his latest column for OK! magazine. This comes shortly after fans pleaded with him not to shorten Arabella Rose's name.
