Peter Andre's 'real reason' on split from Katie Price he planned to tell kids

Katie Price and Peter Andre's over three-year long marriage famously collapsed amid "constant arguments" back in 2009.

The celebrity duo, once known for their duet of A Whole New World, soon became embroilled into constant domestic arguments which resulted in a swift divorce proceeding at London's High Court, the Mirror reports.

Their split became a mystery, with Peter Andre keeping the reasons close to his chest. Katie Price publicly acknowledged it wasn't her decision to part ways, hinting at unresolved issues, while Peter vowed to eventually disclose the reason.

Throughout their marriage, they were no strangers to jealousy and spats, often displayed on their reality show. Yet, fans remained sceptical that these rows could single-handedly topple the relationship.

"Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life," Katie confessed to the Mirror. "This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation but I will always love my Pete."

Katie ultimately revealed that the root cause was a serious misunderstanding stemming from an outing involving her riding instructor, Andrew Gould. Despite attempts to keep this event private, exposure by the media compelled Katie to address the speculation head-on.

The glamour model and Andrew both refuted any allegations of infidelity, and in 2012, she claimed that Pete had ended their marriage due to his suspicions. "I never wanted the split. It's unfortunate that he thought I was having an affair," she revealed on Radio 4's Woman's Hour, asserting he had no evidence.

Peter, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped but hinted at a significant event. He then pledged to Piers Morgan that he would one day disclose it on his show. In 2009, he told the broadcaster: "Something big happened, which I won't reveal as I don't want my kids reading it. But when I tell them, I'll come on your show and reveal what actually happened."

He further stated: "Katie knows 100 percent the reason why I left her and I am 100 percent sure that what happened definitely did happen."

Katie countered those claims in her own 2009 interview with Piers, insisting: "Pete had it in his head that I fancied [Gould], he fancied me maybe because, I don't know, Andrew's half-decent looking, he's not an ugly guy.

"I would get up early, go to the horse, come back, be in a really good mood, he would look at it as if Andrew's making me in a good mood, not seeing it that I've been to the horse, my release, I've enjoyed riding. So it grew and grew in his head until he just ended up thinking something was going on, that I fancied Andrew, he fancied me."

Pete decided their marriage was over and delivered the news to Katie in a heated phone call, stating he was going to consult his solicitor for a divorce. Overwhelmed by the situation, Katie was too stunned to shed tears as she tried to comprehend his words, telling him to proceed with his solicitor if that's what he desired.

In the heat of the argument, she retorted, "divorce me!" "I had heard him say things like this so many times, but I knew that this time he meant it," she penned in her autobiography, You Only Live Once.

She added: "I didn't cry. My marriage to the man I believed was my soulmate was over, but I didn't cry. I was still in shock and shaken from what he'd said, feeling scared and nauseous. I was clueless about what would happen next but I knew I needed to stay strong. That was all I kept reminding myself."
