PHOTOS: East Texas high school athletes participate in 2024 National Signing Day
TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Wednesday is a special day for many athletes throughout East Texas as they celebrate extending their athletic careers to the college level.

National Signing Day is the culmination of thousands of hours working out, studying film and bonding with friends and coaches that often last a lifetime.
Tyler High
Julian Dews signed to play football at Navarro College, Javian Harper at Missouri Western State, Marquette Martin at Texas Wesleyan, Jace Sanford at Missouri Southern State, Daquevion Sellers at Sul Ross State University and Ja’Michael Washington-Cooper at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Longview
Longview’s Taylor Tatum is the top runningback in Texas. He signed his letter of intent to play at the University of Oklahoma.
The other signees at Longview ISD on Wednesday include: Chase Smith and Anthony Monsivais to Kilgore College, Tavion Morgan to Howard Payne University and Xaryus Sheppard and Dakaylen Reese to Trinity Valley Community College.
Timpson
The nation’s number one rated athlete, Terry Bussey, made a brief and quick announcement – he will stay in Texas to join the Texas A&M Aggies.
The Timpson QB/DB scored six touchdowns in the Bears 2A Division-1 state championship victory over Tolar, securing the first unbeaten season in Timpson history.
Tyler Legacy
Kalan Greenhouse, Jadin Hambrick and Sir Christian Johnson signed to play at Trinity Valley Community College. Barrett Sivley signed to play at McMurry University and Kingston Herring at Central Methodist University.
Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill ISD had five football players sign to play at the next level. Da’veon Ross is headed to Missouri State University, Jay Knight to McPherson, Kendall Allen and Jaxon Cummings to Navarro College, and Pablo Martinez to Harding University.
Whitehouse
Whitehouse ISD had six athletes sign to play at the next level.
Chris Woodley signed to play football at Hardin-Simmons University, Kryen McCullough at Kilgore College, Brycen Record at MidAmerica Nazarene University and Gabe Stroud at University of North Texas.
Keegan McCord signed to play baseball at St. Edward’s University while Sierra Channel signed to play softball at Kilgore College.
Arp
Arp High School senior middle infielder Jackson Cavazos signed to play baseball with the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, Missouri.
Brownsboro
Beau Hardin signed his letter of intent this morning to continue his football career and education at Harding University.
Van
Both Ace Bostick and Jose Suarez were offered full scholarships and signed their letters of intent to continue their football careers at Blinn College.
