Photos of a millionaire businessman and his model wife posing with the dead bodies of wild animals they killed in Africa have sparked outrage.

The leaked personal photos, apparently taken on a 2011 holiday in Africa, show Matias Garfunkel, 42, and Victoria Vannucci, 33, with dead animals they had shot including a lion and a crocodile.

In the photo with the dead lion, Garfunkel has a cigar in his mouth and is holding a sniper rifle.

In another, former tennis player and model Vannucci is holding a pistol, pictured next to a dead ram.

The pictures also show the couple with other animals, including a rhino and a tiger.

The images, published by an anonymous Twitter user called “Mucamas de Garfunkel” which means “Garfunkel’s Housemaids”, have sparked uproar in the couple’s home country of Argentina.

TV host Lourdes Sanchez tweeted: “I feel so bad to see people smiling next to animals they killed. Pure sadness and indignation.”

Model and fashion designer Candelaria Tinelli added: “Nice of them. The Cuban cigar gives it quite a touch. I can’t believe it!”

And TV host Claudio Rigoli tweeted: “Garfunkel and Vannucci: a lot of money and little brains. They kill animals for fun in a safari.”

The couple have refused to comment on the photo leaks, but Garfunkel has reportedly made two complaints to authorities - first accusing his house staff of stealing the pictures and publishing them online and later requesting for authorities to investigate one of his relatives who allegedly has a background as a hacker.
