A terraced home has been left blackened after a house fire in County Durham.
Firefighters were called to Good Street, in Stanley, on Tuesday afternoon after reports of a house blaze - with crews arriving to find the property "well alight".
Pictures taken from the aftermath of the fire show the charred brickwork on the front of the property, which is now surrounded by blue and white police tape.
Police closed the road in both directions "for some time" following the incident, asking motorists to find an alternative route.
Meanwhile, fire crews from High Handenhold, Consett, and Spennymoor rushed to the scene where two firefighters extinguished the blaze using a hose reel, thermal imaging camera, and positive pressure ventilation system.
The North East Ambulance Service said it assessed two patients at the scene - and it is not known if anybody was injured during the incident.
An investigation is now underway to establish the cause.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a fire in Good Street, Stanley, shortly before 12.30pm today (2 July).
"We dispatched one ambulance crew, who assessed two patients on scene."
A spokesperson from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 12:24pm today, our control room received reports of a fire at a house on Good Street, Stanley.

"One fire engine from High Handenhold, one fire engine from Consett and one fire engine from Spennymoor fire station attended the scene.
"On arrival, crews found a terraced house well alight. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were quickly deployed to extinguish the fire using a hose reel, thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation. Crews left the scene just before 2pm.
"We are working with our colleagues at Durham Constabulary to establish the cause of the fire."
