The leaders of the main UK parties were all out campaigning on Saturday, with sporting sessions and gardening visits the order of the day.
Liberal Democrat chief Sir Ed Davey put his best foot forward with a game of tennis against a party candidate, before trying his hand at crazy golf.
Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer both visited garden projects, with the Tory leader also taking a chance to “splat a rat” at a village fete in his constituency.
Sir Keir, meanwhile, took the Labour campaign to a brewery in London and tried his hand at pulling a pint.
In Scotland, First Minister John Swinney enjoyed the performing arts during an event at a project in West Lothian.

It is a terrifying showdown, an epic moment of truth that threatens to blow up the EU, trigger another Eurozone crisis and, just three days into his prime ministership, throw Sir Keir Starmer’s immigration and trade plans into disarray. In two weeks’ time, France will have either elected the most radical Right-wing populist government ever to control a nuclear power, opted for a rabidly anti-capitalist, anti-Western, far-Left coalition, or proved itself to be entirely ungovernable.

The latest act in the EU’s long-running farce concerning Central European member states was played out on Monday. The Austrian environment minister, Leonore Gewessler of the Green party, at the very last moment abandoned her coalition government’s agreed position and voted to approve the EU’s “nature restoration law”, the flagship policy of the EU’s Green Deal. This aims to make the bloc carbon-neutral by 2050.
The United Nations decolonisation committee has been accused of colonialism by the Falkland Islands after it suggested the UK and Argentina should begin fresh talks over their ownership.
Unlike Nigel Farage, Sir Keir Starmer has said remarkably little of note during this campaign. Multiple times he has stood beside a sign saying “CHANGE” with his Starmer resting expression – that of a man with excruciating piles lowering himself gingerly onto an inflatable haemorrhoid cushion. The most radical thing the Labour leader has done in the past month is wear a too-tight white T-shirt to seem cool during the England match. But Sir Keir Starmer KC is most definitely not “one of the lads”
There is nothing “peaceful” about the defence pact that Vladimir Putin signed yesterday with his North Korean counterpart, Kim Jong-un. On the contrary, the comprehensive strategic partnership agreed between the two leaders during the Russian president’s visit to Pyongyang demonstrates the deepening bond between two rogue states whose main aim is to forge a new “axis of evil” to confront the West.
