Piers Morgan accuses 'I'm A Celeb's' Matt Hancock of ‘profiting obscenely from his own failure'
Piers Morgan has accused I'm A Celebrity camper Matt Hancock of "profiting obscenely from his own abject failure".
The former health secretary has come under fire for going on the ITV reality show, with his parliamentary whip being suspended and the COVID-19 Bereaved Families for Justice group launching a petition to have him removed from the programme.
Morgan took aim at the politician in a Sun column that claimed "we’ve become a nation of lazy, entitled, stay-at-home skivers who’ve gone from a ‘can do’, to a ‘why the hell should I?’ mentality".

The broadcaster said he believed Britain was "broken", citing strikes, violent crime, energy and food prices and saying the "work ethic has collapsed". He also said schools were running out of money and people were struggling to get doctor and dentist appointments.
"Yet what else can we expect when those charged with running the country have proven themselves to be such a shambolic, shameful, rule-breaking shower?" he asked.
Morgan then took aim at "Matt ‘kangaroo testicle-muncher’ Hancock" - who has been lined up to do a stomach-churning eating trial alongside Boy George on the reality programme.
He claimed that Hancock was "now profiting obscenely from his own abject failure as health secretary and scandalous exit from government".
The star had another pop at the politician - who is rumoured to be getting around £400,000 for going on the show - when he was talking about the fact his wife Celia Walden had taken the bus to a meeting in London that day.
He said there were "two extraordinary aspects" to her journey. One was the time the journey took and the other was "that she was on a bus at all, a rarer sighting than Matt Hancock at his constituency office".
It isn't the first time that Morgan has slammed Hancock over his trip Down Under.
When it was confirmed that he was going on the programme, Morgan said on his Uncensored show: "I’m actually glad you’re going to a remote, tarantula-infested jungle on the opposite side of the world.
