Piers Morgan teases 'GMB' co-host Susanna Reid over romance with Crystal Palace chairman

Piers Morgan was lightening quick to rib his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid after pictures emerged at the weekend of Reid and her new ‘boyfriend’, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.

Speculation has surrounded Reid’s relationship with Parish for some months, and they’re said to have ‘bonded’ over their mutual love of the South London football team.

As well as several dates, it’s also claimed that they’ve been away on a ‘romantic mini-break’ together.

But at the weekend, the couple were snapped at Palace’s match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, in what was claimed to be their first ‘public’ outing.

The show begins its broadcast at 6am, and by 6.01am, Morgan was brandishing a copy of The Sun on Sunday, which was plastered with a front page headline about the pair.

Morgan, who has been on a short break from presenting the show, said: “So many interesting things I had to catch up on. Well, when the cat is away.

“I got slightly confused by this story, you have found someone who is 53, yep, I am 53, born in 1965, I was born in 1965, been married before and with kids, another box ticked.

“Handsome, wealthy, successful, big passion for London football club… I was reading all this and thinking God she’s come out!”

“I’ve gone public with my passion for you,” Reid joked back.

He then went on to suggest it was all a ruse in order to get free tickets to the football, and also suggested that he was the one who first introduced them, on a trip to New York in 2016, providing evidence via a photo he posted on Twitter.

Reid announced she was ‘back in the dating game’ last week, in an interview with You magazine.

“I’m back in the game. I’m definitely open to dating again. This is the right time,” she said.

“The great thing about what’s happened in 2018, and everyone will have seen it on Love Island, is you don’t have to date exclusively any more.

“I’m not online. It doesn’t feel like the right thing for me.”

Reid split from her former partner Dominic Cotton in 2014 after a 16-year relationship.
