Pig born without back legs learns to walk around on his front trotters

Meet Miracle. He’s an adorable tiny pig born on a farm in Colorado at the end of last month.

And his name is pretty fitting. He was born without back legs, and has had a pretty tough start to life.

Now, however, he’s effortlessly overcome adversity by walking around on his two front legs, with his backside pointing skywards.

It’s an adorable sight, but also one of sheer determination too.

Ari Smith, the founder of Colorado Cutie Pigs, where Miracle lives, said: ‘To get around, I noticed he was kind of tripoding, walking on his front legs and putting his nose on the ground to steady himself.

‘Now he just balances on front legs. He’ll run. It’s pretty cool.’

And while Ari believes that Miracle is happy moving around on his front legs, she’s looking for a specialised pig wheelchair as a permanent alternative - and a family who are willing to adopt him.

‘I just don’t have the facility to keep him’, she said.

‘Pigs are like a constant, really smart, 3-year-old.

‘He [Miracle] needs a special home.’
