Pilot Survives After Plane Crashes and Burns in Terry, Mississippi

The 50-year-old pilot of a small plane escaped injury on Wednesday, May 22, when his aircraft crashed and burned after catching on power lines in Terry, Mississippi, according to local media.

Local woman Trish Weaver caught the aftermath of the crash on camera. “I was standing in my yard across the street. The wheels caught the power line and flipped the plane. The pilot unbuckled and fell to the ground and ran into the field to safety. It caught fire seconds later. No injuries praise God!” she told Storyful.

Local media reported the pilot had told investigators the plane’s engine failed as he was approaching the landing strip on Jenkin Road, causing it to crash into power lines before catching alight. Credit: Trish Weaver via Storyful
