Pine Tree ISD student apprehended for making terroristic threat

LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – The Longview Police Department said a student was apprehended after they allegedly made a terroristic threat to Pine Tree ISD on Sunday.

Officials said they were alerted to a threat to Pine Tree Middle School on a social media platform at around 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Detectives and Longview PD officers immediately started investigating and a student was later taken into custody off of school grounds without incident on the charge of making a terroristic threat, Longview PD said.

Officials said the student was taken to Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center.

Statements of violence towards any of our campuses will be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest extent by the police department. The Longview Police Department wants to thank all of our Independent School District partners for their continued cooperation and communication involving our schools. Making any threat, whether in person or online, is illegal and has serious consequences.”
