Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond’s Daughter Alex Is Pregnant, Expecting First Baby with Husband Mauricio Scott: ‘Precious Gift’

Alex and Mauricio's pregnancy marks the first grandchild for the Food Network star

Ree Drummond is going to be a grandmother!

The Food Network star's daughter Alex Drummond, 26, announced on Instagram that she is expecting her first baby with her husband, Mauricio Scott.

"We can’t wait to meet you, little one. 🤍 Baby Scott joining the party this winter!" Alex and Mauricio wrote in the caption of their joint post on Sunday, June 23.

"Thank you Lord for this precious gift 😇," they added, alongside photos of the couple posing with their dog wearing a bandana that reads "Big Brother," holding up sonogram pictures and grinning at each other.

This will be the first grandchild for the Pioneer Woman star, who is mom to Alex, Paige, 23, Bryce, 20, Todd, 18, and Jamar, 20.

Drummond, 55, shared her excitement about her oldest daughter's pregnancy, writing in a comment underneath the couple's post: "Beyond happy for you two!! (And for the whole family!) 🥹 Love you, Alex and Mauricio!"

Alex's sister Paige also chimed in, writing: "So happy I could cry 🥹. Can’t wait to be an auntie!!! I love you guys so much 🤍🤍🤍."

Alex got engaged to Mauricio in 2020 and tied the knot on May 21, 2021, at the Drummonds' Oklahoma ranch.

"Our honeymoon baby is getting married tonight. (TMI?😂)," Ree wrote on social media at the time. While the nuptials held many special moments for the couple, Alex said her father Ladd Drummond's presence was a highlight, as he had been involved in a truck collision just months before.

"​​[My dad] actually got clearance from his doctor the Thursday before the wedding that he was able to take off his neck brace for some of the special wedding day moments," she later told The List.

"So that was a really special thing, that he was able to be there and not wear this big brace, and he just got to experience it," Alex added.

Though the couple celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in 2022, Alex told PEOPLE in early 2022 that she and Mauricio were in no hurry to become parents, saying at the time, "I think we're taking our time, not rushing into it, trying to enjoy being married for a little bit."

In January 2023, Alex and Mauricio announced they had grown their family by adopting a dog together. "Our hearts will never be the same! Welcome to the fam, George," Alex wrote on Instagram.

Ree couldn't resist commenting on her daughter's post that she was not just a mom anymore. "I'm a GRANDMOTHER!!!! 😍😍😍," she wrote about the adorable animal addition.

In her social media post about the new puppy, Alex shared a carousel of pictures of George, who appears to be a golden retriever.

The images showed a peppy puppy already bonding with his new human parents. In the shots, George cuddled with his family and enjoyed car trips and midday naps.
