A Place in the Sun buyers had a rare 'complaint' during the show's most recent house hunt.

Kevin and Sally reached out to the Channel 4 programme for help finding their "forever home" on the Greek island of Kefalonia. The married couple decided that the time was right to move abroad but didn't have retirement in mind.

Meeting host Laura Hamilton, they explained how they wanted a house they could live in but also have extra space they could rent out to tourists to provide a steady income to fund their new island life. The property expert warned them that this was one of the most expensive of the Greek islands to live on and braced them for how far their £200,000 budget could stretch.

Laura struggled to find somewhere that had the couple on the same page. The hunt got off to a rocky start with Kevin and Sally failing to agree on the right place for them - until they travelled a short while out from the centre and into Divarata.

The buyers were shocked that Laura managed to "pull off a miracle" and find a four-bed villa that was within their budget. It boasted six balconies, a garden that was brimming with opportunity and four bathrooms to avoid any queues in the morning.

They toured the property - split over three floors - and had already earmarked what they'd do inside the "blank canvas".

Kevin and Sally had one last property to see with Laura but both refused to go beyond the garden gate. Sally was disappointed to see the pool, adding that it was the only feature that the villa before didn't have.

The luxury feature, which is often the top of every A Place in the Sun buyers bucket list, was met with disappointment. A deflated Sally joked with Laura: "I didn't want you to find a house with a pool because it makes it more difficult with the one that I've already fallen in love with!"

Sally went a step further and refused to go inside and look around. Chalking it up to a visit "just for inspiration", they eventually went in but clearly had their hearts elsewhere.

Laura was less than surprised the next day when the couple wanted to claim the massive villa. It was listed with a £193,500 asking price and they walked away having negotiated a sale for £189,000.
