A Place In The Sun's Laura Hamilton 'dating married man' after divorcing husband

A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has found new love after her marriage ended.

The television host revealed last year that she and her former husband Alex Goward were parting ways after a nine-year union. Following the split, the Scottish-born star shared her feelings of failure over the end of their relationship.

Laura and Alex have two children together, Rocco, aged 10, and Tahlia, who is eight.

Laura, 42, is reportedly now in a relationship with James Pettigrew, 44, a father of two, with the couple confirming their romance in January.

James' estranged wife, Jackie, was reportedly taken aback to learn of his new relationship, feeling "upset" by the development. A source told MailOnline: "Laura has been dating James since January and they spend all their time together.", reports the Mirror.

"While Laura has been single since splitting from her ex-husband, James is still married, and their relationship has caused his estranged wife Jackie a lot of hurt and upset. She was unaware of their romance in the early days and is now going through a painful divorce, with her priority being to protect her two daughters.

"Laura and James have made every attempt to keep their relationship private but it's been months and they're so close now, they are fully committed to each other and making this work long-term."

Laura and James have reportedly been inseparable since their romance took off. They were spotted enjoying each other's company at the Scottish FA Cup Final just two months ago, where they watched the match between Celtic and Rangers from the comfort of a hospitality suite.

On the topic of her separation from Alex, Laura shared: "We are co-parenting, and it works. But even that, you know, I kind of felt like I had failed."

She has openly discussed how their lives were heading in separate directions, stating: "It was a decision we both came to. We have an enormous amount of respect for each other, but we are now on different paths."

She added: "At the point, it was announced, we'd already overcome a lot of difficult times. But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children's happiness will always be our priority."
