A Place In The Sun's Scarlette Douglas is making a significant life change as she gears up to become a mum.

She has flown off to LA in an attempt to broaden her TV career, revealing that she has meetings lined up with top executives.

The 37 year old TV presenter is taking a big step by moving to Los Angeles, where she has arranged discussions with major television networks about potential hosting roles. Before flying out, Scarlette shared details of her exciting move.

She told the Express: "I've got my green cards, I'm heading to Los Angeles for two months to have some meetings over there with networks and channels," she said. The TV star also hopes to bring her on-screen collaboration with her brother Stuart to the US, adding: "Hopefully, [my brother] Stuart and I can bring some of our shows stateside as well. So, watch this space... And I can't do the cold here. All of my shows have 'in the sun' in the title and right now there is no sunshine so get me over to Los Angeles,"

Famous for her sunny appearances on A Place In The Sun and jungle challenges on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Scarlette also co-hosts Channel 4's Worst House on the Street with her brother Stuart, 45. While she's initially heading to the US for a couple of months, Scarlette hasn't ruled out the possibility of a more permanent move, reports the Mirror.

In a recent Instagram update, she explained to her fans: "Don't worry, I'm not fully moving full-time. I'll be doing a few months [in the UK], a few months in the US in probably LA, Miami, New York, a few different places that I am going to visit before I decide exactly where I want to settle."

Scarlette has been quite open with her 75,000 followers about her 'mental month' and the preparations for motherhood. At 37, she's been candid about her egg freezing journey and has shared her reasons for feeling that now is the right time.

While attending the Ideal Home Show, Scarlette revealed: "I have no more excuses. I have to get it done and future-proof as much as possible. I didn't realise that at 35, not only do our eggs diminish in terms of how many we have, but the quality of them too."

The process of fertility preservation has been far from easy for Scarlette, involving a series of scans, injections, and hospital visits. Prior to her US trip, she underwent the egg retrieval procedure.

Doctors collected 24 eggs, out of which 19 were suitable for freezing, giving her a hopeful 70 percent chance of conceiving later on.
