Plans to build 52 affordable homes in County Durham lodged with council

Planning proposals have been lodged to construct 52 affordable homes in South Hetton, County Durham.

The application, submitted by Partner Construction Ltd, spells out plans to transform a vacant 1.68-hectare site, south of Front Street into a residential area.

The site, currently agricultural terrain, would have 117 parking spots designated for the new houses.

New routes for vehicles and pedestrians are also illustrated within the application.

Construction materials, access points and extensive facts about the landscape are pinpointed in the Design and Access Statement.

The proposal also addresses concerns related to potential environmental pollution, and flood risks, and includes provisions for sustainable drainage systems.

The document features observations on the potential impact on local wildlife and habitats.

An agent from DPP Planning, the representative for Partner Construction Ltd, has also handed in ownership certificates and agricultural land declarations.

These establish that the applicant is the sole owner of the plot and that it is not part of an existing agricultural holding.

If granted, work would take place between 8am and 6pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.
