Plows Move Snow in Coastal Oregon

A “massive” coast-to-coast winter storm brought snowy conditions to the south-central Oregon coast on Thursday, February 23, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Video posted to Twitter by the Oregon Department of Transportation (DOT) shows plows on southbound US 101 in downtown Coos Bay during Thursday’s snow.

“Please give our crews space as they work to clear roads throughout the state,” the department wrote on Twitter. “All hands are on deck, but they can’t be at all places, all at once. If you’re able to stay off of roads in high impact areas that helps!”

The NWS warned that travel could be “very difficult” Thursday night into Friday morning. Credit: OregonDOT via Storyful
