Yahoo News Plymouth beauty therapist shortlisted for prestigious award
A Plymouth woman has been shortlisted for skin specialist of the year in a prestigious national competition. After setting up her salon, B Studio Beauty, at her home in Beacon Park the skilled therapist has made skin treatments her focus - after extensive training.
Brooke Lee even has plans to create her own skincare range and offers 1:1 teaching sessions at B Studio Beauty. The talented 27-year-old recently announced that she is a finalist in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards.
Brooke, who also has a degree in Media and Marketing, said a lot of “hard work” has gone into getting where she is today. After buying her first home in 2021, she converted the garage into a “perfect” beauty studio.

Speaking about being a finalist, Brooke said: “It’s such an achievement to be a finalist for the skin specialist of the year award and to be recognised in such a big industry.
"I'd love for this to be recognised in the southwest as I don’t think we have any quality skin educators. I travelled to Manchester to do my training and I’ve brought everything I learnt down to Plymouth, and I’m now passing all these skills on to my own students.”
Brooke previously provided eyelash extension and brow treatments, which her customers loved, but she is now focusing purely on skin treatments.
She said: “I’m moving forward in the skin industry and concentrating mainly on this and my beauty education. I love teaching people the same skills as me and watching their beauty business flourish the same.
“This is super exciting for me as my future is definitely within skin. I’m stepping away from lash treatments which I was previously predominantly known for in the industry. So it’s amazing to be recognised and nominated for this award.
“It just shows that all the hard work I put into my business and choosing to step away from other treatments and become skin focused really has paid off. I’m actually hosting my own small scale event in the summer, a skin masterclass to educate more people about skincare and skincare treatments. I'm really excited and grateful to be in a position to host this.”
