Plymouth Moor View results in full as Johnny Mercer loses to Labour

The people of Plymouth Moor View have spoken and Johnny Mercer has lost his seat to Labour's Fred Thomas.

Exit polls predicted there was a 99% chance that Mr Mercer, a former British Army captain, would lose his seat to Mr Thomas a former Royal Marine. In the lead up to July 4, the two candidates, Mr Mercer and Mr Thomas, were embroiled in a bitter row.

Mr Mercer came in second, receiving 12,061 votes. Mr Thomas, the new MP, received 17,665 votes, securing victory with a 5,604 majority. Reform's Shaun Hooper was in third place, with 9,670 votes.

The seat had previously been held by Conservative Johnny Mercer, who had been elected three times prior to the 2024 General Election. In 2019 he won with a 12,897 majority.

There were five candidates standing in Plymouth Moor View. They were Shaun Hooper (Reform UK), Sarah Martin (Lib Dem), Johnny Mercer (Conservative), Georgia Nelson (Green), Fred Thomas (Labour).
