Police arrest two men after 'disturbance' outside busy train station

Two men were arrested after a 'disturbance' outside a busy train station in Wigan.

Neighbourhood officers - who were already patrolling the town - descended on the scene outside Wigan Wallgate on Tuesday (June 18). A 'disturbance' broke out at around 6.30pm, police said.

Two men - aged 34 and 35 - were arrested on suspicion of affray. Both were taken into custody for questioning.

A post on the GMP Wigan West Facebook page last night said: "#Arrest - At around 18:30hrs on Tuesday 18th June following a disturbance outside Wigan Wallgate train station, neighbourhood officers on foot in Town were quickly on scene, Two Adult males, 34yrs and 35yrs were arrested for offences of Affray.

"Both remain in custody. Pc's Kelly and McCormack."
