Police Make Arrests as Pro-Palestinian Protesters 'Refuse to Comply'

The Metropolitan Police said around 40 arrests were made in Westminster on Tuesday, May 28, after several hundred out of a thousands-strong pro-Palestinian protest refused to disperse. Three officers were injured, the force said.

Police said the protest was required to end at 8 pm, under conditions imposed by the Public Order Act. However, a group of “about 500” out of the 8,000-10,000 protesters remained.

After having “engaged extensively” with the group, officers wearing protective equipment went into the crowd and began a series of arrests. Credit: Westminster Police via Storyful
