Police say they "are becoming increasingly concerned" for the welfare of a missing 34-year-old man. Matheu Hopwood was reported missing on Friday (May 17).

He was last seen the day before on Helsby Street, Warrington. Since his disappearance, it is believed that Hopwood may have travelled to the Brighouse area of West Yorkshire.

He is described as white, around 6ft tall, of proportionate build, with short curly brown hair and blue eyes. He is known to frequent the Latchford area of Warrington.

Detective Chief Inspector Kersten Southcott said: "We have been conducting a number of enquiries to trace Matheu and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare. I would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen Matheu since he was last spotted to get in touch with us.

"The same goes for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, or CCTV or dashcam footage of him. I would also like to appeal directly to Matheu; please let us know you are okay."

Anyone with information or footage that may help officers find Matheu is urged to contact Cheshire Constabulary on 101, or visit cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML-1825500. Anyone who sees Matheu is asked not to approach him and call 101.
