A PERSON has been brought to safety after police were called to welfare concerns at the Dartford Crossing this afternoon.

Police had been called to concerns for someone on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge shortly after 12.25pm today.

All traffic was held while the incident was ongoing and there was three miles of congestion on approach, but the road is now fully open again.

Officers attended and brought them to safety.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Thank you for your patience and understanding."
