Police bust High Street cannabis factory

Police have made an arrest after busting a cannabis factory. They raided the home - on High Street, in Kidsgrove - at 3pm yesterday.

The suspect - a 26-year-old Oldham man - is currently being questioned by police in connection with the incident.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "A man has been arrested after we found a cannabis grow at a home. We went to an address in Kidsgrove following intelligence which suggested that drug activity was taking place. A number of plants were found inside the home, all of which were seized. Two mobiles phones and more than £450 in cash were also seized by officers.

"A 26-year-old man, from Oldham, was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis plants. He remains in custody while enquiries continue. Officers across the region are continuing to proactively target drug cultivation as part of Operation Levidrome."
