Police discovered heroin worth £4000 when they raided a house in Larkhall.

Dean Weir, 30, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

He admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug at his then home in Nevison Street on October 12, 2022.

Scott O'Connor, prosecuting, said police went to the house with a search warrant about 10am.

Weir was outside and about to get into a taxi when he was stopped.

Officers carried out a "systematic" search and found two bags containing brown powder, weighing 125g and 108g, in the living room. They also seized scales.

Sheriff Linda Nicolson deferred sentence on Weir, now of Drygate Street, Larkhall, until next month for background reports and an electronic tagging assessment. He had his bail continued.
