Police issue statement as four year-old child dies in Wales

A four year-old child has died at a property in west Wales, police have sadly confirmed.

The police force said officers and emergency services were called to the incident at a property in the Tregaron area of Ceredigion on Thursday, June 20.

Dyfed-Powys Police said that they are not treating the death as suspicious and has been reported to the corner. In a statement, a spokesperson for the police force shared their condolences to the child's loved ones.

The statement, reports WalesOnline, reads: "Dyfed-Powys Police attended the death of a 4-year-old child at a property in the Tregaron area on Thursday, 20 June 2024.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and H.M Coroner has been informed. Our thoughts are with the family who are receiving support and they have asked for privacy during this difficult time."

The child has not been named and a sex hasn't been revealed.

No further details have been shared by police.
