Police lock down Edinburgh road after reports of 'gunfire' shots in major incident
Police have locked down a street in Edinburgh after reports of "gunfire" shots being heard.
Officers from Police Scotland, paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire Rescue Service descended on Moredun Park Road on Tuesday, May 21, morning.
The exact nature of the incident is unknown at this time but Edinburgh Live reports that a large emergency response remains in the area, Edinburgh Live reports.
One resident reported hearing "gunfire" around the South Edinburgh Estate while numerous local businesses say there has been a "major incident". They also reported a building being cordoned off.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire Rescue Service have been approached for comment.
