POLICE officers ‘moved on’ a group of children from inside a derelict building in the town centre.

It is believed that the large group of children, aged between 10 and 12, have been using the building regularly.

Officers say this is a ‘huge concern’ due to the poor state that the site is in.

In a Facebook post, Warrington Police revealed that one child injured his hand by getting a rusty nail through it inside the building.

The post reads: “One child who refused details had injured his hand whilst in the building by getting a rusty nail through it.

“If your children have come home with such an injury, please speak to them regarding the dangers of entering these premises or if you believe your child may be involved, tell them to stop before they get hurt or worse.

“We are contacting owners to make the place secure and anyone found in the building will be dealt with.”
