A police officer from Alabama has gone viral because of his striking resemblance to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Office sparked a frenzy online when they shared a picture of Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields on Facebook.

As soon as the snap was posted, people flocked to the comments section to express their amazement about how similar he looked to the Jungle Cruise star.

“Why is The Rock in this photo?” asked one person, while others called him a "doppelganger".

“Can you take off your shirt so we can check for your tats just to be sure you're not the Rock?” joked another.

“What is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson doing there?” asked another.

“Wow, you sure The Rock doesn’t have a twin?" asked one fan.

Another joked: “I have this sudden urge to go to that county and get arrested.”

“Sooo the women about to flood this city breaking the law,” quipped another.

Another person suggested that Lieutenant Fields could be known as “Dwayne 'The Cop' Johnson” from now on.

One fan put the picture on TikTok, saying you couldn’t tell the difference between the officer and the actor.

“So Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson if you see this, I’ve found your twin and he is in Alabama!" she said.

The image already has over 1600 likes on Facebook and thousands more on TikTok.

Morgan County Sheriff's Office later revealed that Lieutenant Fields is very much in demand since people spotted that he’s the Hollywood star’s doppelganger.

Sharing a picture on Instagram of him with a member of the public, they said: “This gentleman recently ran into Sgt Mason and informed him he wanted to meet our Deputy that people say looks like ‘The Rock’.

"Sgt Mason passed that along and Lieutenant Fields was happy to swing by the Hartselle Wal-Mart to see him. Tyler is one of their many hard workers and it was great to meet him and some of his co-workers!”
