Police probe 'early hours' break-in at North Staffordshire Co-op

Raiders swiped food, cash and booze after breaking into a village Co-op. Now police are appealing for witnesses over the incident at the branch in Loggerheads.

Neighbourhood officers say the Eccleshall Road store was targeted in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Cops were scrambled to the scene after the alarm had been activated.

PCSO Colin Hodgkinson said: "Officers from Staffordshire Police attended the Co-op in Loggerheads in the early hours of May 21 after being alerted to an alarm .

"Upon arriving officers discovered that the premises had been entered and cash, spirits and food stuff stolen. Local officers have been in the area conducting further enquires and offering reassurance to local residents."
