Yahoo News Teenager allegedly assaulted by man on bus travelling to Newcastle
Police officers made an appeal to trace a man in connection with a report of an assault on a bus.
Officers received a report of an assault on the X71 service travelling from Consett to Newcastle, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday, March 30. It was reported that a man became involved in a verbal altercation with a group of teenagers.
The man is then reported to have hit one of the teenagers, aged 13, in the face. He sustained minor injuries in the incident.
An investigation has been launched into the report and officers released an image of a man they would like to trace.
He was in the area at the time of the incident and it is believed he could have valuable information which may assist enquiries.
In an update on Friday, Northumbria Police said they had identified the man from the image.
