Police have revealed details of the cannabis factory they found when they raided a former Nuneaton working men's club. They forced their way into the old Green Bear pub yesterday (January 15).

This followed concerns that people were going 'in and out' of the building, which was once the Church Road Working Men's Club. Warwickshire Fire and Rescue had previously raised concerns about its safety.

Prior to its closure, the fire service issued an order for the Church Road-based pub to close amid safety fears. The Green Bear did not re-open and then, last year, an application was made for it to be bulldozed to make way for apartments.

But the building has stood untouched- but not empty as officers found a cannabis factory in production inside. A Warwickshire Police spokesperson confirmed to CoventryLive that 364 cannabis plants were seized from inside.

The production of the factory was also dismantled. Now investigations are ongoing to find out who was behind the set-up.
