Police update on search for Swindon man missing for two weeks

A Swindon man missing for two weeks has been found safe following extensive searches by police.

Trevor Barnard, 43, went missing from the Pinehurst area on Monday, April 1, and was not seen for another two weeks.

But on Sunday, April 14, Wiltshire Police confirmed that Trevor had been located “safe and well”.

Officers had become increasingly concerned for the 43-year-old’s welfare and carried out extensive searches in the Swindon area.

During this time, residents in Pinehurst were urged to check any CCTV or doorbell footage and look in their sheds and outhouses for signs of Trevor.

Large numbers of Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers supported police during some of these searches, including a recent operation near Manor Garden Centre.

On April 3 a National Police Air Service helicopter was deployed to help search for Trevor and circled above Penhill, Pinehurst, and Gorse Hill.

Volunteers from Wiltshire, Avon and Somerset, Severn Area, and Oxfordshire Search and Rescue all flocked to the area for several days to help locate Trevor.

A spokesperson for the organisation said: “Great news… we're all very pleased that he is safe and well.”
