Police Seize Giant Loch Ness Monster Inflatable at COP26 in Glasgow
Anti-poverty activists’ inflatable Loch Ness Monster was seized by police in Glasgow, Scotland, on November 3 ahead of its planned appearance at the COP26 summit.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Daily Record that “officers seized a large inflatable due to be launched on the River Clyde as it breached the maritime restrictions in place to maintain public safety and security close to the COP26 venue.”
The group Jubilee Debt Campaign said they had planned to highlight the growing threat of climate debt burdens for lower income countries by floating the inflatable down the Clyde.
The inflatable is approximately four meters tall, eight meters long, and three meters wide, the group said.
