Police seize off-road motorbike and arrest made in town

An off-road motorbike has been seized and an arrest has been made in Radcliffe today, Tuesday.

The bike was confiscated at shops on Moss Shaw, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has said.

Elsewhere in the town, a "male" was arrested on suspicion of being a disqualified driver, as well as for "going equipped".

Under Section 25 of the Theft Act 1968, going equipped is an offence where an individual is judged to have had an item which was intended to be used in a burglary or theft.

Under UK traffic law a motorist found to be driving without insurance can face a fine and six points on their driving licence.

If there are matters which aggravate the case, such as sustained uninsured use of a vehicle, they may be banned from the roads.

A spokesperson for GMP's Bury South neighbourhood team said: "Radcliffe update: officers arrested a male for being a disqualified driver.

"He was also arrested for going equipped.

"Bike seized at Moss Shaw shops (in) Radcliffe."
