Police sent to Hanley street as 'group enters empty homes'

Police were called to a city centre street to reports 'a group went into an empty house'. Residents had spotted cops on Hanley's Century Street during Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were spotted 'behind the houses' with two marked cars in the neighbourhood from around 1.15pm. Now Staffordshire Police have revealed more about the presence.

A spokesman said: "We were called to Century Street, Hanley, at 1.15pm yesterday (April 30) following reports that a small group of people went into an empty address.

"Officers went to the scene and spoke to those involved."
