Police tape off beauty spot after woman tragically found dead inside car

Police taped off a popular beauty spot on Wednesday afternoon (July 10) after a woman was tragically found dead inside a car.

Emergency services were called to Clifton Country Park shortly after 4pm, with the entrances to the car park cordoned off after the discovery.

It has since been confirmed that the body of a woman, whose age has not been confirmed, was discovered inside a vehicle. Her family are currently being supported by police.

The beauty spot remained taped off throughout the evening as emergency services responded. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances relating to the woman's death.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "We have been in attendance at Clifton Country Park this evening (Wednesday 10 July 2024), where very sadly the body of a woman was found in a vehicle shortly after 4pm.

"The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances."
