Leaders put a school in lockdown - after a parent's 'behaviour concerned staff'. Police say the individual was told to leave Congleton High School.

StokeonTrentLive has reported how families received a message to say the Box Lane school had been put into lockdown this morning. Now Cheshire Police have confirmed officers had been called to the scene at 10am.

A police spokeswoman said: "A parent had attended at the school and their behaviour concerned staff. Officers advised them to leave, to which they did. There was no threat to students, staff or the wider public."

During the lockdown the school told families everyone was safe.

The message stated: "School is currently in a lockdown procedure. The site is secure and there is no immediate threat on site and all members of the school community are safe. Students do not have access to their mobile phones and we will provide further information shortly."
