Popeyes Louisiana Chicken is set to open its first restaurant in Northern Ireland in South Belfast.

The American fried chicken chain will be opening up at Forestside Shopping Centre in the coming months and has begun advertising for roles at its new premises.

A number of job finding websites, such as Indeed, are advertising for a general manager role at the chain, with these revealing that it will be based in Unit Two of the shopping centre.

The advertisment does not state whether or not the restaurant will be based inside the shopping centre or in one of the new units that are currently under construction.

Popeyes said in the advert for the general manager role: "Popeyes is coming to Northern Ireland!

"We’re looking for a proven operator who can support the next step of our growth! You’ll be an ambitious and hungry GM, wanting to take the first step into operations and multisite site management, or a proven operator ready to help us land and grow in NI. You’ll be able to help us launch in NI and then support our growth, while elevating your career. If you’ve run QSR operations and are up for stepping into run site one, then scale our operation, moving into an operations role, read on!"

Popeyes is offering a starting salary of between £38,000 and £45,000 for the general manager position, saying that it will also come with an employee discount and gym membership.

It also says that the job will have "flexible scheduling to balance home and work life", free meals while working on shift and a 10% bonus scheme.

The deadline for applications for the role is May 31.

The advert does not give any indication as to when the restaurant will officially open at Forestside.
