A popular BBC show is set for a second series. Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder have reportedly secured another series of their popular travel show amid rumours of a potential romantic relationship between the pair.

The television personalities captivated audiences earlier this year with their BBC Two programme, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour. The show celebrated the bicentenary of poet Lord Byron's death as they journeyed through Italy.

Their three-part series was so well-received by fans that it has allegedly prompted bosses to plan a second season. Rob and Rylan's travels took them through Venice, Florence, and Rome. Reports suggest the duo could be set to explore more European cities.

An insider stated: "It's at the very early stages and the Beeb haven't fully signed off on the sequel. But the team behind the show didn't want to take a gap year before starting work again.", reports the Mirror.

They further told The Sun: "So they are already looking at where Rob and Rylan's next adventure could take them."

The source hinted that the TV pair could traverse Spain, Greece or France. Prior to the series launch, Rylan expressed his enthusiasm, stating the show meant the world to him and referring to Rob as family.

He shared on Twitter: "Tonight our new show starts at 9pm on BBC Two and iPlayer. It was so special. This man has become family to me because of this experience. It really is a show like no other and we're so proud of it. Hope you enjoy."

In response, Rob subtly alluded to an intensified bond between the two mates, penning, "'Friendship may and often does, grow into love.' Byron .. See you alongside him 9pm tonight @BBCTwo."

There was plenty of speculation among fans that there might be more than friendship brewing between the pair. However, Rylan quickly dismissed such suggestions, but this didn't prevent This Morning presenter Ben Shephard from voicing his hunch during their interview.

In his view, he saw an unmissable "telling sign", saying, "See, that look is why people think there's something going on because I'm seeing some, a lot of admiration! " Rylan made light of the situation with a quip: "We are expecting! " as he mimicked a pregnant belly, while Rob chimed in, "It's not fake tan, he really is that radiant."

Furthering the conversation, Rylan expressed, "Watching it back, the narrative, the arc throughout the three episodes even something as stupid as in Venice, we were in separate accommodation. In Florence, we were in the same accommodation in different rooms and by Rome I'm waking up with him underneath me: 'Get off of me, barrister! ' But that's the narrative of the arc, we started this process as mates and we have finished it as actual genuine friends. That's been probably the best thing to come out of it."

Rumours about Rylan and Rob's relationship intensified last month when the pair were spotted together at the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet. However, Rylan felt compelled to set the record straight after his mother was approached by a journalist at her home.

On X, previously known as Twitter, he posted: "To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don't. She said you was a lovely man but she's 71 years old and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. The answer is no. I'm not dating Rob Rinder he's one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks."

The former X Factor contestant also hinted at more to come while on the Table Manners podcast, mentioning: "If people like it and it goes well, we've already discussed where we'll go next."

Representatives for both the BBC and Rylan and Rob have been approached by The Mirror for comments.
