Two new national chains could be moving into a vacant Teesside Park store.

Fashion chain White Stuff and cosmetics brand Rituals both look to be eyeing up new stores at the shopping complex after park plans were updated to show the retailers on units 21A1 and 21A2. These units form two-thirds of the former H&M, which was initially earmarked for luxury chain Tessuti's new store, which has now been shelved.

The map, drawn up by park owners British Land, was updated on Wednesday, May 1 - and Unit 21A is now labelled as 'under offer' again, with neither chain listed. It comes months after plans were green-lit by Stockton Council to split Unit 21A into three, throwing plans for Tessuti to take over the site into even further doubt after years of uncertainty.

Teesside Live confirmed on Wednesday that plans for the Tessuti had been scrapped after months of uncertainty. However, Frasers, which owns the chain, is still set to open a Flannels store and a new, bigger Sports Direct shop at Teesside Park - both of which are now scheduled for late 2024 or early 2025.

Fashion brand White Stuff is known for selling women’s, men’s, and children's clothing as well as accessories, homeware and gifts. It has several locations across the North-east, including in Newcastle's John Lewis store at Eldon Square, the Metrocentre in Gateshead, and in Morpeth.

Meanwhile, Rituals sells luxury home and body products and prides itself on having an "extensive collection of luxurious yet affordable home and body cosmetics". It similarly has stores in Eldon Square and the Metrocentre, as well as locations in Harrogate, at the York Designer Outlet, and in Leeds.

Teesside Park is set for another big year ahead, already recently welcoming Nike Unite to the park and opening the revamped Hollywood Bowl. There are now also just weeks to go until the highly-anticipated Primark store opens its doors.

A park spokesperson said there was nothing further to add at this stage. Teesside Live has reached out to White Stuff, Rituals and Frasers for comment.
