'Popular' pub next to Himley Hall reopens with cosy log fires and garden terrace

A popular Black Country pub has reopened after a huge refurbishment. The Himley House, off Wolverhampton Road, in Dudley, reopened this week after the refurbishment by Chef and Brewer.

The renovation has seen a complete transformation of the pub both internally and externally, resulting in a more contemporary look and feel for guests. Himley House has been closed since January while the refurbishment took place and reopened on April 22.

The inside of Himley House has been redecorated, including a spacious new bar, four log fires and updated decor and furnishings throughout. Bosses say the refurbishment was to 'create a more vibrant setting' while retaining the cosy and traditional features of the pub.

The lobby has also been redesigned for those who enjoy a quieter workspace, while guests can also hire specific meeting and event spaces within the pub. The scenic garden terrace has undergone a refit with a new heated and covered seating area.

Himley House is now serving a new spring menu alongside a range of seasonal specials. It includes traditionally British dishes such as Lamb Shank Shepherd's Pie and Barber's Chicken, as well as an extensive drinks and cask ale offering.

All 21 of Himley House's hotel rooms have also been revamped including new furniture and fittings, as well as a refitted bathroom. The historic site, originally part of the Himley Hall estate, is located next to the spacious grounds of the park.

Andrew Colley, general manager of Himley House, said: "Myself and the rest of the team couldn’t be more excited to reopen after watching our pub transform throughout the beginning of this year. As the weather starts to improve, we know that our transformed garden terrace will be a big hit within the community.

"We're also in an ideal location being situated next to Himley Hall, and close to Wolverhampton City Centre, so we look forward to welcoming old faces back, and to see some new ones too."

Himley House is open 7am to 11pm on Monday to Friday, 8am to 11pm on Saturday and 8am to 10.30pm on Sunday - and food is served until 9pm each day.
