Porte To Ride For BMC After Leaving Team Sky

Richie Porte will join the BMC Racing Team on a one-year deal after deciding to end his association with Team Sky.

The 30-year-old Australian, who played in his part in helping Sky win three Tour de France titles, will link-up with the US registered team for the 2016 season.

Porte helped Bradley Wiggins win the Tour in 2012 and worked as a domestique for Chris Froome as the British rider claimed victory in 2013 and last month.

"We officially welcome Richie to the BMC Racing Team," BMC Racing manager Jim Ochowicz said in a statement.

"Richie's addition to our roster for next year adds extra muscle and a wealth of experience.

"It also gives us the chance to separate and/or unite our strategies and goals as we see fit throughout the season."
