Post Office services have been restored in Immingham with the opening of a temporary facility.

The main branch in Kennedy Way unexpectedly had to close in February due to "a collapse of the roof" with major repairs needing to be carried. out. In the meantime, the Post Office and Immingham Town Council have been working to offer a temporary solution, which opened on Thursday at Immingham Civic Centre, in Pelham Road.

Tajinder Khehra, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We sincerely want to thank Immingham Town Council for providing space at its Civic Centre for a temporary Post Office as we know how important a Post Office is to the residents and businesses of Immingham.

“Kennedy Way Post Office will continue to be operated by Bishopsgate Specialist Logistics, which had re-opened the branch in March last year, after the McColl’s store where it had been based at this location, closed in January 2023.

“We are pleased to be able to reinstate the service as a temporary Hosted Outreach whilst we continue to seek a permanent solution.”

The Civic Centre Post Office offers similars services to the main branch, though excludes a comprehensive range of travel money and on demand travel insurance.

The temporary opening hours are between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
