Yahoo News Power Book III: Raising Kanan shares first look at Wendell Pierce
Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 3 has premiered a new trailer, offering fans a first glimpse of The Wire and Suits star Wendell Pierce in action.
Pierce has joined the cast of the Power spin-off as Ishmael 'Snaps' Henry, a former bank robber who's now a mentor to the likes of Kanan, and something of a local icon. The Blacklist actress Erika Woods is playing Snaps' wife Stephanie 'Pop' Henry.
Snaps and Pop are known for mentoring young criminals and financing their sketchy schemes, and the new season of the Power prequel will really dig into Kanan Stark's origin as he brushes shoulders with them.

Following the conclusion of Raising Kanan season 2, Mekai Curtis, who stars as Kanan, exclusively told Digital Spy about his approach to some of the show's darker scenes.
"At this point, I kind of do a disassociation thing," he explained. "I think there have definitely been difficult days – whether it be for, you know, the actual hours that we're putting in, whether it be the actual content or concept of what we're shooting.
"But by the end of the day, I'm so kind of, like, depleted and I've put my all into the work and what's happening I kind of just like, base out."

As for other newcomers to the Power universe, Little Fires Everywhere cast member Paul Yen will appear in December's Raising Kanan episodes as Quân, a new recurring character.
Grantham Coleman of The Americans fame is also set to debut in Raising Kanan's third season as Ronnie Mathis, Unique's older brother.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan airs on Starz in the US and streams on Lionsgate+ in the UK. Season 3 premieres Friday, December 1.
