A beloved Village Fete with an annual tradition running for several generations is set to be held on the Pratts Bottom village green this Saturday.

Kicking off the day will be a parade climbing up Rushmore Hill, culminating in the crowning of this year's Pratts Bottom May Queen on the Green on May 11, 2024.

The fete officially begins on the Green at 12pm.

Attendees can browse an assortment of stalls operated by local groups offering everything from food to handcrafted goods.

There is also a lively dog show, traditional dancing and children and adults alike can delight in a Punch and Judy puppet show.

Adjacent to the Green in Pratts Bottom is the Bull's Head pub which is all is all set to complement the fete.

This charming pub, run by Joe and Stuart, is known for its brilliant gastro food and a fascinating history that includes tales of the notorious highwayman Dick Turpin, and hidden tunnels under its floors.

The Bulls Head will add to the Village Fete excitement as visitors savour a big roast or a barbecue as well as grabbing a few drinks to finish the day off.

As the day transitions into the evening at 5.30pm, a live singer will perform in the rear beer garden.

Joe added: “We've got a lovely big rear garden which has private dining pods, a big stretch tent with festoon lights. It's a really lovely place to sit in summer.

“We've got a lovely sun terrace where people can book out for private functions and it's just at the sun track really, sit there and you can overlook the hills and the farms from our back garden.”
