Predator who performed sex acts in front of lone women on London trains jailed
A man who repeatedly exposed himself to women on the London transport network and then groped a Tube passenger has been jailed.
Kolawole Oladetoun, of Stratford’s Leather Gardens, was jailed for 23 months at Harrow Crown Court and also handed a seven year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court heard how Oladetoun repeatedly performed sex acts while staring at women on trains throughout 2020 and 2021.
In one incident on October 18, 2020, the 25-year-old boarded a service to Kentish Town and sat diagonally across from a lone 30-year-old woman.
He began exposing himself while performing a sex act, until she left the service.
On April 14, 2021, he sat opposite a woman travelling in an empty carriage on the Victoria Line and began masturbating.
The following month, he exposed himself and masturbated in front of a woman on a train from Clapham Junction to Kew Gardens. Just two weeks later, he exposed himself to a woman on a train in Tonbridge.
He was also found guilty of masturbating in front of a woman from Hampton Court on July 1, 2021.
Police caught him after he sexually touched a 19-year-old woman as she climbed the steps at Hounslow West Tube station on Saturday, August 7.
She immediately turned around and punched him, took a photo of him, and memorised the headcode of the train he fled onto, allowing police to make a quick arrest.
Oladetoun initially failed to appear at court last year for sentencing.
DS Brittany Armstrong, of the British Transport Police, said: "Four of the women targeted by Oladetoun demonstrated remarkably quick thinking by taking a photograph or video of him despite being left shaken and terrified of what he may do next.
"It is in no small part thanks to all the women targeted that we were able to piece together Oladetoun predatory behaviour across the network and ultimately bring him before the courts.
"Their bravery in reporting what happened to them and their help with the investigation should be commended."
