Yahoo News Pretty Little Liars star reveals she spoiled the show's ending long before it aired
It's been two years since Pretty Little Liars came to an end and finally revealed the identity of the mysterious 'AD'.
After endless fan speculation, the mysterious villain was revealed to be Alex Drake, the twin sister of Spencer Hastings – both played by Troian Bellisario.
The actress has now revealed that she actually spoiled the ending to the show way before the finale aired, though she managed to get away with it because no-one believed her.
"I never had to lie to protect the biggest secret on the show," Bellisario admitted to Entertainment Weekly. "I told the truth and hid in plain sight.
"Every time I was asked, 'Who's A?' I would say, 'It's me,' and everyone would laugh and think I was joking because Spencer Hastings would never be A. But I was dead serious. I just wasn't talking about Spencer. I was talking about her twin."
While Pretty Little Liars may be over, the show has lived-on in spin-off The Perfectionists, which recently finished its first season.
Showrunner I Marlene King has teased the possibility of a cross-over with the original show, revealing when asked of the prospect: "Oh, I think so!"
"The original PLLs have been so supportive of this show, not just the ladies but the men. Tyler [Blackburn]'s been so supportive and Ian [Harding] and hopefully we'll find a way to bring them in," she told Entertainment Weekly.
"Because they can come and visit our world and it will still feel like our world. Because it is the same universe."
