Yahoo News Pretty Little Liars star won't rule out spin-off appearance
Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell is teasing fans that she may turn up on the upcoming spin-off The Perfectionists.
Mitchell and her Pretty Little Liars co-stars bid farewell to Rosewood earlier this year, but Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish will be reprising their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal for an all-new series.
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists takes place in the seemingly-idyllic town of Beacon Heights, which is rocked by its first-ever murder just as Alison and Mona arrive.
Creator I. Marlene King and even Shay Mitchell have teased the possibility of Pretty Little Liars characters crossing over onto The Perfectionists in the past, but now Mitchell seems more positive than ever that fans may eventually see her character Emily Fields again.
"Never say never," Shay told Entertainment Weekly. "I'm so excited to see Sasha on that. It's something that they were talking about before we even finished [Pretty Little Liars], and all of us were so supportive."
Regardless of whether that crossover ever comes to pass, Shay - who is working on her own series The Heiresses - seems convinced that I. Marlene King has once again struck gold with The Perfectionists.
"Obviously we have a huge fanbase of PLL and nobody wanted to see it end," she said. "I think this is going to be a great substitute for that. A lot of the fans will enjoy seeing what takes place later on, so I'm really excited to watch it."
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is expected to air on Freeform in the US at some point next year.
