PrettyLittleThing has released a statement following its open model casting in London, which saw thousands of hopefuls queue up for hours. The fast fashion brand announced it would be looking for the ‘next face’ of the brand as part of its campaign.

Prospective entrants were told to head to Great Portland Street to attend the casting on Wednesday, May 15. More than 3,000 people flocked to the casting as hopefuls lined the streets and queued for hours to get a chance.

PrettyLittleThing has since published a statement, addressing the call. In a post shared to the brand’s Instagram page, it explained there would still be a possibility to apply for the casting.

Alongside a lengthy post, PrettyLittleThing said: “A note to those who turned up yesterday… If you would still like to apply for our London casting, please upload a full-length photo and unfiltered video of yourself walking to camera along with a copy of your ID (must be 16 or over), social handles and full name to PLTScoutMeLDN@prettylittlething.com.

"We will contact successful applicants via DM who will be invited back to cast with us in person. A huge thank you to everyone again who attended, Love PLT.”

PLT’s extended message read: “Thank you to everyone who attended our London casting day yesterday. We could never have predicted that over 3,000+ of you would show up to see us and understand that many of you queued all day to do so.

“Despite opening our doors early at 9.30am and extending the casting until later in the day to see as many of you as we could, we had to ensure the safety of both our staff and each of you, so were advised by our security team to close our doors at 4.30pm. We know how frustrating and disappointing this is therefore we will be continuing to cast in a more controlled manner.

The brand turned off the post’s comments, which has been liked 10,000 times. A number of people shared their experiences of the casting on TikTok.

Miyalindd wrote: “Little did we know here that we waited 6 hours for nothing #plt #pltcastinglondon.” Notemiliaaa_x said: "@Prettylittlething The line tho stood for like 4 hours."

Twinbrett added: "Stopped by the PLT open casting today. Apparently over 3000 people still want to work for them, and they even had to close it early due to capacity."

PrettyLittleThing has been approached for comment.
